“In the tradition of Woody Guthrie, who reinvented an old Carter family ballad and gave us This Land Is Your Land, or Bob Dylan, who reinterpreted in English ballad for a Masters of War, Rick and Fabrizio have given new lyrical life to a beautiful song.”
(Michael Johnathon, folksinger – friend)
“A stirring collaboration between folk music veteran and songwriter Rik Palieri and blues harmonica stalwart Fabrizio Poggi, “Bella Ciao – A Partisan’s Farewell” brings the emotional immediacy of the ramparts to the fore in this dangerous time. Driving banjo and haunting harp notes bolster a timeless tale sung with sadness, hope and determination. I sense it is already a real classic and could imagine Pete Seeger turning it into a sing-along.”
